after giving Madden 08, 8's and 8.5's, NCAA Football 09 deserves an 11! Yes, it's that much better and I prefer the pro game myself.
I don't believe in updating 2D handdrawn (style) classics to 3D. Part of the greatness of the old games was found in their art style and the fact that they left a lot up to the user's imagination.
Now updating old 3D games (Wild Arms, FF7) into better looking 3D games, I am all for.
hopefully it'll be fixed soon. This game really does deserve credit. I really have hated on NCAA and Madden since they came to next-gen systems but EA really has nailed that last-gen responsiveness and feel/control with the latest version of NCAA.

by far (kills Madden 08 and I prefer the pro game). Got the game a little early and am having a great time with it. Don't believe me check the leaderboards - KobeBryant24 (7-4) on PSN. I was ranked 14th in the world on Sunday (lol). Oh well, didn't have time to play it yesterday but I expect to be dropped to about 140th if I have time today!
or do any of you prefer the visuals of the original 2D sprite version? Why do people always assume 3D is better especially when the game basically looks like Wild Arms for the original PS1 (good for its time, but trash now)?
The one thing I realized I loved about the old 2D sprite RPGs is that it let work your imagination. It didn't destroy your visions with horrid 3D blockmen and pixelated environments. You could also imagine how the characters sounded instead of being treate...

I can personally vouch for the quality of SMT Nocturne and Disgaea. Ars Tornelico seemed interesting as well.
Might as well just perfect the single-player/offline multiplayer experience. At least with offline multiplayer, you can physically beat up your friends if they cheese!
Although the game/demo is great, there is great potential for cheese/spamming ultimate attacks which will ultimately hurt the game as it'll only be the same 50 people cheese fighting each other online.

Yeah, Alundra was a great game and definetely one of the most challenging yet rewarding RPGs I've ever played (I even thought the rather cliched ending was great). I'd love for it (and Xenogears) to come to the US PSN, but I'm not going to hold my breath (although the JP PSN is getting/already has both).
